Procedures: Steps Learnning activities Language focus Modes 1. Warm-up:3’ -Pupils do the actions and say after the teacher -Introduce the new lesson. Whole class 2, Look, listen and repeat: 10’ - Have pupils look at the pictures and discribe it. (Who, where, what, ?). Teacher explains the task and context more clearly. -Teacher shows the context to introduce and teaches the new words. Pupils read them until feel confidently.. -Says the conent of the lesson. - Calls on some pupils to read the sentences under each picture. Check pupils’ comprehension. - Play the recording, pupil point to each line in the task 1 and listen and repeat. - Play the recording the second. Ask pupils to listen, repeat. - Ask pupils to read the dialogue into 3 groups. -Ask the pupils to practising reading the dialogue in groups of three. - Call on some groups to perform. - Comments. - Ask pupils how the characters ask and answer about activities at breaktime then underline them. - Call a pupil to say the structures. - Introduce the structures and teach how to use them: They are used to ask and answer about activities at breaktime. - Show structures on the board , get ss to read the sentences in dividually and chorally. 1, New words: breaktime, play, football, do bedminmton. 2, Structure: What do you do at breaktime? - I play .. - Group work. - whole class - Teacher goes around to give any help. 3. Point and say 15’ - Show all the pictures of activities in task 2 for pupils to look at and guess the sports. - show inturn the words under each picture then introduce the new words. - Each word, teacher reads aloud for pupils to repeat first. Next, she reads, spells each sound in the word slowly while write them on the board like this: Forexample, basketball: “a”- “ba”-“ba+s” = “bas”, “k”- “et” – “k+et” = “ket”, “b” – “all” – “b+all” = “ball” , for pupils to look, read and do after. When pupils are familiar with the sounds teacher lets them read continuously until be confident like this: ba –ba-ba .., ba+s –ba+s – ba+s- bas, k-k-k –k+et –et – k+et –ket, b-b-b –all –all –all –b+all =ball – (basketball)3. - Teach the rest words with the same technics. - Have pupils read all words in pairs then individual until be confident. * Game time: Have pupils play in pairs, each pupil acts out the activities, the other guesses then say them aloud. - Call 3 pupils from 3 groups to the front, Teacher points to an activity, the class do the action, 3 pupils say the words as quickly as possible. - Show all the words for pupils to read aloud. - Shows the structures learnt, practise reading the structures fluently. - Pupils practise answering 4 pictures. What do you do at breaktime? I play chess. / table tennis. /basketball./... - Elicit one pair to do model. Correct . - Get pupils to work in pair to practise the structures. - Call on some pairs to perform. - Check. Comments. 1. New words: play, football, chess, basketball, table tennis, bedminmton. 2. What do you do at breaktime? - I play .. -Individually - Pair work - Teacher goes around to give any help especially to weak pupils. 4. Let’s talk:7’ - Have pupils read the question and 5 answers again. * Pupils play game: Ball chain. - Teacher say the rules clearly. -Do models. - Correct. Comment. 1.Words: play football, play chess, play basketball, play table tennis. Play bedminmton. 2.Structures: What do you do at breaktime? - .. - Pair work, group work, Whole class -Teacher goes around to give any help, especially weak pupils. 5.Reinforcement: 2’ - Have pupils read the activities and structures learnt chorally.
