viên vừa có thể “ hâm nóng” lớp học, vừa có thể dẫn học sinh vào trọng tâm của bài học:
Dùng tranh ảnh
Kể 1 câu chuyện cười
Mở hoặc hát 1 bài hát
Vẽ một cáI gì đó không rõ ràng lên bảng và yêu cầu học sinh đoán
Cho hs tư duy các từ hoặc các kháI niệm liên quan đến bài học
Cho hs đoán nội dung bài học dựa vào một loạt các gợi ý
Dùng vật thật giúp liên hệ vào bài

Nguyên tắc sử dụng hoạt động khởi động lớp:
Giáo viên phải chuẩn bị chu đáo cho hoạt động đó trước giờ dạy, tức là phải nắm rõ mục đích, cách tiến hành
Các hoạt động đưa ra phải ngắn, đơn giản
Các hoạt động phải có sức hấp dẫn
Các hoạt động phải phù hợp với khả năng của học sinh
Các hoạt động trong các tiết dạy phải đa dạng, tránh gây nhàm chán cho hs
Phân tích kết quả điều tra về hiệu quả của W-u tại một số lớp 10 trường THPT Quỳnh Lưu 2:
 Để tìm hiểu về hiệu quả thực tế mà các W-u activities mang lại cho việc dạy và học, tôI đã tiến hành 1 cuộc điều tra nhỏ ở học sinh các lớp C2, C7, A1 và C10. Căn cứ vào kết quả thu đựoc, tôI càng có động lực để viết skkn này.
Theo kết quả điều tra, 90% số học sinh ủng hộ các W-u activities và hơn 80% nhận thấy rằng W-u đem lại cho các em sự hứng thú cũng như 1 tâm thế tốt trứoc khi bắt đầu bài mới. Khoảng 5% hs ủng hộ việc kiểm tra bài cũ trước khi bắt đầu bài mới và 5% khác không có chính kiến hoặc thích các hoạt động khác. 
Như vậy, rõ ràng là W-u đã đem lại những hiệu quả đáng kể cho ngưòi học. Học sinh cảm thấy bài học hấp dẫn hơn, môn Tieng Anh thú vị hơn so với các giờ học bắt đầu bằng các hoạt động khác như hỏi bài cũ

Nói tóm lại, sự cần thiết của việc sử dụng hoạt động khởi động lớp và một số gợi ý cho việc dạy Tiếng Anh 10 đã được đề cập khá đầy đủ trong bài viết này. đề tài cua bài viết tuy không thật mới nhưng người viết đã cố gắng hết sức để không đI vào lối mòn của các tài liệu khác bằng cách chọn ra những gợi ý đơn giản nhất, phù hợp và sát thực đối với học sinh lớp 10. 
 Do những hạn chế về hiểu biết, kinh nghiệm, tài liệu cũng như phạm vi của một sáng kiến kinh nghiệm bài viết chưa đưa ra được thật nhiều hình thức hoạt động khác nhau. Tuy nhiên, hi vọng rằng, nó có thể góp một phần nhỏ vào việc cảI thiện tình hình dạy và học Tiếng Anh trong các trường THPT và là một nguồn tư liệu có ích cho các giáo viên Tiéng Anh.
Trong quá trình tiến hành viết skkn, bài viết không tránh khỏi một vài sai sót, rất mong nhận đươc những góp ý chân tình từ đồng nghiệp.
